Abuja – Factions the Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives appear to have returned to the trenches with supporters of Senator Magnus Abe, obtaining an injunction from a Court in the state to stop the party’s congresses.

The court presided over by Justice Ben White ordered the APC and the party’s caretaker chairman in the state, Isaac Ogbogbula to maintain the status quo.

Whyte gave the order pending the hearing and determination the motion on notice of interlocutory injunction filed by Stephen Wonah and six others on July 30.

The seven claimants in PHC/1857/CS/2021 established a case against the APC, and the chairman the state caretaker committee of the party, Isaac Ogbogbula.

The suit, which was served on August 2 is scheduled for hearing on Thursday, August 5.

Whyte gave the APC and Ogbogbula 24 hours to respond to the motion for interlocutory injunction upon receipt.

The court also gave the claimants 24 hours from the date the receipt of the defendants’ response to react to their counter -affidavit.

The court also ordered that the respondents be served by substituted means at the new APC secretariat in the Government Reservation Area in Port Harcourt.

It was learnt that seven aggrieved members the party, who paid nomination fees to the party’s dedicated account and received evidence of payment, were denied forms to contest elections into the ward executive council during last Saturday congresses.

Recall that Senator Abe had asked his supporters to boycott the congresses since they were denied participation in the process.
