Port Harcourt- The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Rivers, Mrs Gesila Khan, has directed electoral officials to manually accredit voters whose PVCs could not be read by the card reader.
Mrs Anthonia Nwobu, the Public Relations Officer of the INEC in Rivers said this on saturday during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Port Harcourt.
Nwobu said the directive followed series reported failures by the card reader.

“INEC wishes to call on those whose cards could not be read to go back to their various polling units to be accredited with their PVCs,’’ she said.
One of the voters, Mr Clement Umoh, told NAN that he was relieved with the directive by the REC.
“I thought I will not vote today. But I am happy I have been accredited manually. As you can see other voters have been accredited and we are in the process of voting,’’ he said. (NAN)
