Lagos – The Rivers Government has entered into a strategic partnership with a foreign scouting agency Fox-Lion of Belgium to improve on quality of players’ discovery and development.
The Commissioner for sports, Boma Iyaye, who disclosed the partnership on Thursday in Lagos, said it was signed when the management of Fox-Lion of Belgium visited him in Port Harcourt on Wednesday.
“The Fox-Lion delegation was led by Messrs De-Brunye Bart and James Stomne. These agents were in the state to scout for new talents in football.
“I told the delegation that Rivers United FC is the pride and flagship of the state government.
“As such, the government is willing to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the management of Fox-Lion of Belgium.
“’This will help to improve quality of players discovery and development of new talents in the state as a whole,” he said in a statement.
