“My players are also confident of winning away in Lokoja. That away win is our target,’’ he said.
The coach, however, appealed to the state government to ensure that the players are motivated to ensure victory.
“The management has said it would give the players some financial incentives which are being expected.
“It will go a long way in motivating the players.
“The state government is interested in the club doing well in the league.
“But this is the first time, after the merger of the two clubs owned by the Rivers state government, that we are playing in the league.
“So, we are trying our best to ensure the players give their best performance.
“The technical crew is still correcting mistakes we have made so far and we hope to improve in our future matches, especially the away matches.
“We intend get better as the season progresses and we are aiming for a continental ticket this season,” the coach said.
Rivers United FC are fifth on the league table with nine points from five matches so far.(NAN)
