Royal Father directs DHs to organise special prayers as Jigawa clocks 24

Hadejia (Jigawa) – The Emir of Hadejia in Jigawa, Alhaji Adamu Abubakar, has directed District Heads in his domain to organize special prayers for peace, unity and tranquility in the country.

Abubakar’s directive is one of the activities to mark the 24th anniversary of the creation of the state.

He said that such prayers were imperative for the promotion of unity, prosperity and peaceful co-existence in the state and country at large.

Abubakar said that the people needed to thank God for abundant blessings, social and economic developments, as well as the peace the state had enjoyed since it was created.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that the Emir, as part of the events lined up to mark the anniversary, also visited patients at the General Hospital, Hadejia.

Jigawa state was created on August 27, 1991, alongside Abia, Delta, Enugu, Kogi, Osun and Yobe states.

According to the 2006 census, the state, with 27 local governmnts areas, has a population of 4.2 million. (NAN)
