There’s a longstanding rift between His Royal Highness Eze Stanley Pius Iwu, Omeudo, Ugwumba Umuokrika II, and his cousins, children of late Chief B.A. Iwuh, dating back to 1998. Despite being unanimously chosen as the successor to the late Eze Pius Oguledo Nwoga by community leaders, SP Iwu faced opposition from his cousins due to their father’s aspirations for the throne.

The conflict escalated with accusations of betrayal and animosity, leading to a declaration of war from Chief Iwuh’s children. Attempts to resolve the dispute through legal channels have been met with challenges, including a burial controversy over disputed land.
While the palace maintains that SP Iwu’s selection was community-driven and unrelated to personal interests, his cousins accuse him of causing division and using his position to advance personal agendas.
With the burial of one of the defendants on the disputed land, the community awaits the judiciary’s decision on the matter, hoping for a resolution to the longstanding feud.
