Lagos – The Nigeria Rugby Football Federation (NRFF) on Monday said it had concluded plans to host the Super Cup to determine the ultimate champions of the 2014/2015 league season.
The Super Cup is scheduled for a yet-to-be-date later in the month.

“It became mandatory to organise the cup to determine the national champions.
“In spite of the venue for the annual championship, yet-to be finalised, Abuja and Lagos are presently in the early lead to get the nod to host the event”.
It also said the all serious-minded members of the federation had already been taking stock of 2015 and planning for 2016, stressing that better times awaited the NRFF next year.
“There are indications that the NSC will pay better attention to rugby next year,” the statement added.
It said that Edward Fom Pam, the NRFF President and Alhassan Yakmut, the Director-General of the National Sports Commission (NSC) recently discussed the future of the sport.
“The president of the federation is actually in talks with the D-G and I think there are heightened optimism that the DG has shown more interest in rugby.

It also said that Fasimoye had appealed to Nigerians to be patient with Solomon Dalung, the Minister of Youth and Sports as he had good plans for development of sports.
“The minister has only been in office for two months; we should not expect him to perform miracles immediately, as there is need for to consult with like-minded stakeholders before making moves,” the statement. (NAN)
