Moscow – Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov said on Friday UN cultural agency UNESCO should send a mission to Syria to evaluate the destruction of the country’s ancient monuments.
“Cultural heritage being destroyed by barbarians, including in Syria, is our common domain.
“I am convinced that UNESCO, in accordance with its mandate, should send an expert mission there [to Syria] as soon as the security situation allows,” Lavrov said.
