(Sundiata Post) A fire has broken out in an oil storage facility in the western Russian region of Bryansk following a Ukrainian drone attack, a local official said on Friday.
Although the Russian air defence intercepted the projectile on its approach, the loaded explosives fell on the oil facility in the city of Klintsy.
This is made known by Alexander Bogomas, the governor of Bryansk, on Telegram on Friday morning.
Kiev did not respond to the incident.
Initial reports from Bryansk said there were no casualties as a result of the night attack.
The fire spread over an area of 1,000 square metres in the course of the morning, Russian state news agency TASS reported, citing emergency services on site.
Russia had been waging a war against neighbouring Ukraine for almost two years.
In the course of the conflict, Russian territory had been repeatedly shelled particularly in the border region and against military targets and important Russian infrastructure.
However, the number of casualties and damage were in no proportion to the consequences of the Kremlin’s war on Ukraine. (NAN)
