Kuje – Mr Abdulahi Sabo has picked the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), ticket to contest for the Kuje Area Council chairmanship seat, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports.
Sabo defeated four contestants to pick the ticket to chair one of the most populous area councils of the Federal Capital Territory.
Announcing the results of the primary election, the returning officer, Mr David Dakova, said that Sabo got 108 votes to defeat his closest opponent, Hassan Bako, who got 95 votes.
The other contestants, Dantani Dogo and Haruna Etsu, got 16 and six votes respectively.
Dakova thanked the contestants and delegates for their orderly conduct, and the security personnel for maintaining law and order throughout the exercise.
NAN reports that the indirect primary election was peaceful with delegates from the 10 electoral wards commending the exercise which they said was fair and transparent.
