Ikeja – Mr Oluropo Owolabi, Managing Director, Skyway Aviation Handling Company Ltd. (SAHCOL), has urged operators in the aviation sector to make safety their priority in the discharge of their duties.
Owolabi said this at the closing ceremony of the company’s safety week on Thursday in Lagos.
He said that the workers should also extend safety practice to within their homes and in their communities at large.
“In everything we do, we must put safety into practice. We should continue to hold onto safety at workplace, home and our environment.
“We have the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) as the head of safety in the aviation sector, we individuals should also take a cue from it,’’ he said.

He noted that a lot of people died at airports due to emergency situations that could be prevented if safety was taken seriously.
“Everything we do, we must put safety into practice. We should put safety to practice for our own sake,’’ he said.
Owolabi, however, said that SAHCOL would continue to make safety, particularly on the ramp as their priority. (NAN)
