JIGAWA – As the Sallah Festival approaches, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Jigawa on Wednesday said that it arrested three men, who allegedly stole a ram and a goat.
The state NSCDC Commandant, Mr Muhammad Gidado, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dutse that the corps arrested one of the suspects in Dutse.
Gidado said that the 25-year-old suspect stole a ram belonging to Mr Shehu Mustapha of Katangare Quarters.
He said that the suspect was arrested while trying to sell the ram at the Dutse Modern Abattoir. [eap_ad_2] The commandant said that the NSCDC arrested the other two suspects, aged 27 and 20 at Firya Quarters in Birnin-Kudu Local Government Area.
According to him, the suspects were arrested for conniving to steal a goat belonging to Hajiya Magajiya of L.E.A. Quarters.
Gidado said that the suspects would soon be charged to court.
He advised residents of the state to watch over their animals as the Sallah Festival approached.(NAN)
