YENAGOA – Vice-President Namadi Sambo on Friday enjoined eligible voters in Bayelsa to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Distribution centres, within the 48 hours.
Speaking at the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential rally in Yenagoa, Sambo said that [pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]
they could re-elect President Goodluck Jonathan in the Feb. 14 presidential election if they possessed the PVCs.
“If we have all agreed that our votes are for Mr President, one thing I want all of you to know is that 34 per cent of Nigerians have not received their Permanent Voter Cards, but they have been registered.
“All of you that have not received your cards make sure by tomorrow after this (rally), tomorrow, next tomorrow, go and collect your PVCs.
“Make sure you get your cards, because, it is only with that card that you will be able to vote for us and bring us back.’’
Sambo, who enumerated the achievements of the Federal Government in the last four years, said that the PDP government would link up Yenagoa with the fast railway lines coming from Lagos to Calabar.
According to him, the Federal Government will ensure speedy completion of the new airport under construction in Yenagoa to boost transport system in the state.
The vice-president, who secured a new traditional title in the state, pledged to collaborate with other electorate across the country to ensure electoral victory for President Jonathan as well as other PDP candidates in the forthcoming general elections.
In his remarks, Senate President David Mark thanked the people of the state and the Ijaws in particular for giving Nigeria a dedicated, hardworking and honest President.
He enjoined them to come out en masse and re-elect President Jonathan to enable him to complete his good works across the country.
Also speaking, the National Chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Ahmadu Mu’azu, told the mammoth crowd that the Presidential campaign team was in Bayelsa to thank the people of the state for their loyalty and support to the party.(NAN)
