ABUJA – The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on Tuesday advised the public against doing business with a fraudster impersonating its Deputy Governor, Dr Sarah Alade, on Facebook.

[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]Communications, said Alade does not have any Facebook account.
“The attention of the CBN has been drawn to the existence of a Facebook account purportedly owned by the Deputy Governor in charge of the Economic Policy Directorate at the bank, Dr Sarah Alade.
“We wish to inform all members of the public, particularly members of the social media community, that Dr Alade currently has no Facebook account,’’ it said.
According to the statement, the Facebook account bearing Alade’s name is fake and aimed at misleading the public.
It advised all members of the public to desist from transacting business with the owner of the impostor account, saying ‘’ doing so would be at their own risk.’’
In another development, members of staff of Maiduguri branch of CBN have commiserated with Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Maiduguri as part of the corporate responsibility of the apex financial institution.
The CBN Branch Controller, Alhaji Isiaku Ibrahim, during a courtesy visit to Gov. Kashim Shettima of Borno said IDPs deserve urgent support from individuals and corporate bodies.
Responding, Shettima commended the staff for the gesture and assured that the items donated to the victims would be distributed equitably. (NAN)
