Abuja – The President of the Senate, Dr Bukola Saraki, on Friday bemoaned the death of Rep. Adewale Oluwatayo, a House of Representatives member, who died of Wednesday.
Oluwatayo was representing Ifako-Ijaye Constituency of Lagos State in the low chamber before his death which reportedly occurred in his sleep.
Saraki in a statement signed by his Special Adviser, Media and Publicity, Yusuph Olaniyonu, in Abuja, described the demise of the lawmaker as “very sad’’.
“I am shocked that we lost such a fine parliamentarian and public servant at a time his services were most needed by his constituency in particular and Nigeria in general.
“His selflessness and patriotic services to his people as a local government boss, Special Adviser to Lagos State Government and a federal lawmaker attest to Oluwatayo’s highly impactful but brief sojourn on earth.
“May his soul rest in peace,” he said.
Saraki commiserated with the immediate family of the late lawmaker, his constituency, colleagues in the house and the Lagos State Government over the loss.
While praying God to grant the soul of the deceased eternal rest, he urged his family and admirers to be consoled by the exemplary lifestyle led by the late lawmaker. (NAN)
