Minna – Gov. Sani Bello of Niger has called on Super Eagles to score goals early in Friday’s 2017 African Cup of Nations group G qualifier against Pharaohs of Egypt at Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.

A statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Malam Jibrin Ndace, in Minna, said, “the aim is to make the second leg in Egypt a mere formality.’’
It stated that the honour of the country was at stake, urging them to go for nothing short of overwhelming victory.
“As you file out at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium on Friday, I implore you all to go for early goals.
“This match is crucial; it is about our national honour. Nigerians look up to you to do us proud by ensuring resounding victory to make the return leg match in Alexandria a formality.
“Your victory will not only improve our position on the group’s table but see to lifting of our rating in football circle”, said the governor in the statement.
The statement, however, called on football fans go out en masse to the stadium to the cheer the Super Eagles to victory. (NAN)
