Minna – The military and paramilitary security agencies in Niger on Friday embarked on road work toward promoting cordial relationship among their officers and men.
Maj.-Gen. Rasheed Yusuf, Commander, Training And Doctrine Command (TRADOC) of the Nigerian Army, Minna, made this known to newsmen after the 10-kilometre road work in Minna.
Represented by Brig.-Gen. Olaniyi Olatunde, Director Army Training Support, Yusuf said that the measure would reduce friction among the security agencies.
He said that the exercise would ensure that the security agencies work harmoniously to secure lives and property in the state.
‘‘This exercise will foster cordial relationship among security agencies in Niger state; so before you leave here make sure you exchange telephone numbers.
‘‘The exercise will reduce frictions among the rank and file of the security agencies in Niger.
‘‘At the officers level we don’t have problem but our rank and file have problems discharging their duties together,’’ he said.
The commander also said that the exercise would ensure combat readiness of the security agencies in the state.
He said that the event scheduled for first Friday of every month was organised by TRADOC and 31 Artillery Brigade, Minna.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) observed that over 300 personnel of the TRADOC, 31 Artillery Brigade, 313 Artillery Regiment, Police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Federal Road Safety Corps and members of the National Youth Service Corps participated in the exercise. (NAN)
