ABUJA – The Federal Government on Thursday appealed to citizens to exercise restraint and refrain from making inflammatory statements on the 486 travellers arrested on June 15 in Abia State.
The Coordinator, National Information Centre, Mr Mike Omeri, made the appeal when he briefed newsmen in Abuja.
Omeri said that one of the travellers, identified to be on the watch list of security agencies since 2007 was still undergoing interrogation.
“Therefore, well place individuals are advised to restrain themselves from uninformed comments and assumptive prepositions that mislead the general public.
“I appeal to all Nigerians, irrespective of their circumstances of birth or business that they are doing anywhere in this country that they should remain calm.
“That they should continue as law abiding citizens to pursue their activities without fear or hindrance,’’ Omeri said. (NAN)
