ABUJA (Sundiata Post) You see, we cannot make progress as a nation as long as we have SAME SCENARIOS but DIFFERENT MORALITIES.
Check this:
2013: Jonathan was blamed and taken to the cleaners for every security lapse. From Boko Haram to Kaduna killings, he was HELD RESPONSIBLE. Even the inability to control mosquitoes in our rooms was blamed on him. We called him names and never, never remembered that governors were chief security officers of their states.
2018: The argument now is that governors are not doing enough to tame security challenges. Suddenly, we have remembered they are the chief security officers of their states. They are not doing enough. IN COMPLETE AND SELECTIVE AMNESIA, WE HAVE FORGOTTEN THAT JUST AS POLICE COMMISSIONERS AND STATE DSS DIRECTORS WERE TAKING ORDERS FROM ABUJA IN 2013, THEY ARE STILL DOING IN 2018. In fact, those who used to see Fayose as a nuisance are now using him as a reference point.
Summary: Five years ago, the President was a disaster for not fighting insecurity. Today, president is absolved while governors are not doing enough.
My Take:
At times, I wonder if some Buhari supporters believe we have no memory. I can’t just place it. Some people simply do not deserve a place in heaven. As they say in Yoruba, “awon kan o l’orun.”
Even if we don’t fear our fellow humans, don’t we fear God?
