Security man docked over alleged theft of cell phones, N25,000 cash

Lagos – The police on Wednesday arraigned a 33- year-old security man, Sunday Attah, in an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court, over alleged theft of two cell phones and N25,000 cash.

The accused, who lives at No. 13, Emmanchy St., Orile Agege, a suburb of Lagos, is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Donjor Perezi, told the court that the offences were committed on Sept.6 at No. 32, Bade Abiona St., Orile Agege, Lagos.

According to the prosecutor, the accused being the complainant’s brother-in- law went to his house to pass a night.

“When it was 10 p.m., the accused made some calls and some minutes later, three men burgled the complainant’s room, beat him up and stole his two mobile phones.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”70560”]

“They also stole N25,000 cash , a pair of shoes valued at N3,000 and his two ATM cards, but they did not beat the accused neither did they search his bag,” he said.

The offences, according to the prosecutor, contravened Sections 285 and 409 of the Criminal Code of Lagos State, 2011.

The accused, however, denied the charges.
The Magistrate, Miss O.A Akinde, granted the accused bail in the sum of N50, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

She adjourned the case till Oct. 5 for mention. (NAN)
