PORT HARCOURT – Mr Kelcious Amos, the Project Coordinator, State Empowerment and Expenditure for Result (SEEFOR) project, said on Friday that the state government had given six institutions a total of N24 million to improve their learning facilities.

Amos made this known on Friday in Port Harcourt at a meeting organised by the Fadama III project office, to disburse fund to famers in the rural areas of Rivers.

He listed the schools that benefitted in the first phase of this project as Government Technical College, Port Harcourt, Ahoada, Eleme-Ogu and Tombia as well as Government Craft Development Centre and School- to- Land Authority, both in Port Harcourt.

He said that SEEFOR had also given grants to some technical and vocational training centres in the state for the purchase of equipment to boost their learning facilities.[eap_ad_2]

According to him, the institutions that benefited from the first batch received N24 million each to equip and renovate their institutions.

The project coordinator also said that measures had been put in place to ensure proper utilisation of the funds.

“SEEFOR has set up a team to evaluate what is on ground and what will be put in place with the fund.”

Amos said that the project was being implemented in collaboration with Fadama III, to support farmers.

He recalled that grants were recently disbursed to some SEEFOR/Fadama groups in the three local government areas, to boost food production. (NAN)[eap_ad_3]
