Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed, Bomai’s Constituency Agent, stated this at the presentation of the tricycles to the beneficiaries on Saturday in Postiskum.
Mohammed said that the gesture was part of the senator’s constituency project.
He said that the beneficiaries were encouraged to engage in commercial tricycle trade to mitigate redundancy, earn a living and become self-reliant.
Mohammed said that more people in the area would benefit from sewing, handset repairs and basic business skills training.
He called on the constituents to continue to support Bomai for more dividends of democracy.
Some of the beneficiaries commended the gesture, saying it would improve their living conditions.
Mamman Abubakar from Potiskum, said that the gesture would enable him to cater for his family.
Habu Baba, another beneficiary from Fika, called on other lawmakers to emulate the gesture and empower youth and women in the area.
Another beneficiary from Nangere, Umar Bura, also lauded the Federal Government for providing funds for the empowerment programme.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the distribution exercise was monitored by Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) and state government officials.
