Okitipupa (Ondo State) – Sen. Nicholas Tofowomo, representing Ondo South Senatorial District at the National Assembly, has commiserated with a former governor of Ondo State, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, on the death of her mother.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Alhaja Muyinat Mimiko, died in the early hours of Saturday in Ondo at the age of 88.
Tofowomo, in statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media, Mr Olumide Akinrinlola, on Sunday in Okitipupa, described the late Alhaja Mimiko as a special mother who always stood by her children.
He said that her death was a great loss, not only to the Mimiko family, but to the state at large, saying that she served as a pillar of support to her son during his administration in the state.
The lawmaker urged the former governor to take solace in the fact that her mother lived a fulfilled life, praying that God would grant the deceased eternal rest and the Mimiko family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
