Abuja (Sundiata Post) – The deadline for the redesigning of high bills of the naira threw the Senate into rowdy session over Wednesday due to the controversy the debate generated at the floor of the Senate.
Sundiata Post recalls that some senators were calling for the extention of the deadline to April next year in the interest of the common people in the rural area.
Senator Omo-Agege who presided over the plenary tried unsuccessfully to control the noisy members with numerous shouting of order, moved straight to the prayers of the bill.
As soon as the Deputy Senate President commenced the reading of the prayers, some senators led by Senator Akpan Bassey, (Akwa Ibom) Senator Adeola Solomon Olamilekan (Lagos state), Senator Abba Moro (Benue state) among others.
