Senator Muhammad Jibrillah Bindow has emerged as the flag-bearer of the All Progressives Party(APC) to contend with the Acting governor of Adamawa state, Alhaji Umaru Fintiri of the Peoples Democratic Party,PDP in the October 11, governorship re-run election in the state. The two contenders who hail from the same Adamawa Northern senatorial district have been declared to represent the two most popular parties in the state. Declaring the outcome of the APC’s primary is the chairman of the electoral committee of the party, Dr Garba Abari, who announced the breakdown of the results of the party’s primaries conducted on Sunday in Yola.[eap_ad_2]
He declared that Senator Muhammad Jibrillah scored 2718 to beat his close opponent, Alhaji Ibrahim Mijinyawa Yayaji who scored 2268 votes to come second in the race. The total number of voters accredited was 6232 and 42 was recorded as invalid votes while 6190 were votes cast.
Abari said Boss Mustapha scored 515 votes to cling the third position, followed by Senator Ahmed Barata, who scored 452 votes while Chief Yakubu Tsala scored 187 votes and Mr Emmanuel Bello scored 50 votes.
