Lagos – A septuagenarian woman, Felicia Ajayi, on Wednesday appeared in a Surulere Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, for alleged damage to neighbour’s property
Felicia, 76, who lives at No. 2, Iluseyi Str., Surulere, Lagos, is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and willful damage.
The septuagenarian, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Christopher Okoliko, told the court that the accused committed the offence at No. 2, Iluseyi Str.,at about 8 a.m. on Aug.8.
He alleged that the the accused and others now at large, did unlawfully and willfully damaged a wooden partition valued N120,000.
He told the court that the complainant, Kehinde Ogunsalu, reported the case of alleged willful damage at the police station.
The prosecutor said that the offences contravened sections 348 and 409 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2011.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs M.I. Dan-Oni, granted bail to the accused in the sum of N100,000 with a surety in like sum.
Dan-Oni said the surety must be gainfully employed, reside in Lagos, also provide evidence of tax payments to the court’s registrar.
She adjourned the case till Sept. 26 for mention.
