ABUJA- The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Projects (SERAP) responded to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s allocation of N6.9 billion for vehicles for the First Lady’s office and other SUVs for the Presidential Villa, as reported by Premium Times. The amount is part of a supplementary budget submitted to the National Assembly for approval.

The President requested the National Assembly to approve the N2.17 trillion supplementary budget, previously approved at the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Monday.
In response, SERAP urged President Tinubu to promptly reduce the excessive N6.9 billion budget for purchasing cars for the House, the First Lady’s office, and the Presidential Villa or face legal action. SERAP stated, “President Tinubu should urgently cut the outrageous N6.9 billion budget to buy cars for the House, first lady’s office and Presidential Villa or face legal action.”
