In a joint statement of defense filed before the court by Barrister Adesegun Ajibola SAN on behalf of financial reporting council of Nigeria, and Jim Osayande Obazee, the defendants denied almost all the allegations contained in the statement of facts and alleged that after the employment of the claimant she was granted series of leave, promotion and salary increase.
The FRCN states that prior to deployment of the claimant to Jim Obazee’s office, the defendant had worked in different capacities without blemish or allegation non the least “sexual harassment what so ever, and he had been performing his obligation to FRCN with utmost good faith.

The defendant alleged further that sometime in 2012, the claimant introduced her husband who is also a Pastor to Jim Obazee, and informed him of the need to offer prayer for him, and in addition indicated a prophesy that Jim Obazee will soon be promoted to higher office in Nigeria. Therefore need to rid his office of some perceived evil forces, and enemies among the members of staff of FRCN, but the defendant refused to yield to their demand claiming that Almighty God will be there for him.
Jim Obazee averred further that it became obvious that the claimant would not improve or meet up with the standard demanded by her office, he had no choice than to transfer her to Kaduna in line with the public service rules on 22nd of May 2013 but the claimant resumed two. days later than resumption date, and started to play truancy with her work, therefore the vexatious allegation of sexual harassment are mere figment of the claimant.
Consequently the defendant contended that the termination of her appointment followed due process therefore her claims are vexatious and gold digging, and should be dismissed with substantial cost.
