ABUJA (Sundiata Post) – President Muhammadu Buhari effected a shake-up in the management of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). Mrs. Ibim Semenitari, immediate past commissioner of information in Rivers State has been appointed acting managing director to replace Mr. Bassey Dan Abia, who has been managing director since 2013.

Abia, an indigene of Akwa Ibom State, was appointed by former President Goodluck Jonathan and he (Abia) who was believed to have enjoyed the backing of Godswill Akpabio, former governor of Akwa Ibom State and now senator.
Before his appointment as NDDC boss, Abia had served two terms as the representative of Akwa Ibom State.
