SOKOTO – The Sokoto State Taskforce on Beautification and Removal of Illegal Structures, on Tuesday gave political parties one week to remove their posters from all public buildings.
The Chairman of the taskforce, retired Sqdn.Ldr. Aminu Bala, said such posters and billboards would be removed by the team at the expiration of the deadline.
Bala issued the warning during a meeting with the leadership of all political parties and security agencies in the state.
“These lllegally pasted posters and wrongly placed billboards have defaced the city and its environs and this has to stop.
“They will be removed by the taskforce upon the expiration of the ultimatum and no party will be spared.
“We will work without minding whose ox is gored, as the exercise is not aimed at witch hunting any political party in the state”, Bala said.
He advised politcal parties and their supporters to paste posters and place billboards in only areas approved by the State Urban and Regional Planning Board.
According to him, the ultimatum also affects makeshift political party offices across the state.(NAN)
