Sokoto Govt. provides electricity to 550 communities in 7 years — Commissioner

Sokoto- Sokoto State Commissioner for Rural Development, Alhaji Abdullahi Maigwandu, Sunday said that the state government had spent about N5.8 billion on the electrification of 550 towns and villages the last seven years.

Maigwandu told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Sokoto that the aim was open up rural communities and empower the people to set up businesses to earn a living.

Maigwandu advised the beneficiaries to maintain the facilities and pretect them vandals in order to derive maximum benefits from them.
