Abuja (Sundiata Post) – Despite the brouhaha triggered by the gruesome killing of Deborah Samuel in Sokoto state few days ago, Reno Omokri, has said that Sokoto people are very tolerant except for blasphemy.
Reno said: “If you respect their religion, you will prosper there, even if you don’t believe in their religion. They will NEVER force it on you. But you MUST respect it.”
While acknowledging that those who have never been to Sokoto will attack him for saying this, Reno stressed that his testimony is not just borne out of the fact that Sokoto is a place he understands, but that his family lived there for decades and his father who went there as a 23 year old NYSC member became DPP and a judge there. Adding that the North West gave him their slot in the Court of Appeal not minding he is a Christian.
Reno who took to his Twitter handle to disclose this tweeted:
“Sokoto is a place I understand. My family lived there for decades. They are VERY TOLERANT, except for blasphemy. My father went there as a 23 year old NYSC member. He became DPP and a judge there. And the NW gave him, a Christian, their slot in the Court of Appeal!
