Sokoto – The Sokoto State Government on Wednesday said it had accessed N2 billion from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN’s) Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Development Fund.
The state Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Alhaji Aminu Bello, disclosed this a during ministerial conference in Sokoto.
According to him, the ministry has already disbursed more than N275 million to various SMEs across the state.
He said the ministry had embarked on aggressive sensitisation of benefiting SMEs for proper utiliation of the funds.
He said a committee had been constituted to ensure that only genuine businessmen and women benefited from the loan.
Bello said the state government was determined to provide a level-playing ground for business to grow. (NAN)
