SOKOTO – The Sokoto Central Senatorial Zone Youth Association on Wednesday
appealed to Gov. Aliyu Wamakko to contest the senatorial election in 2015 on the platform of the All Progressives Congress ( APC).
Alhaji Mukhtari Maigona, the leader of the group, made the call at a meeting of political stakeholders in the zone.
He said that the youth in the area were optimistic that the governor had the ability to provide qualitative representation at the upper house.
Maigona said that already, the youth in the area had embarked on a house-to-house sentisation campaign to mobilise others to protect their votes in the forthcoming general elections.
He said that good and qualitative representation in the upper house would enable the people to get more dividends of democracy.
Maigona called on the people to continue to pray for God’s intervention in the socio- economic and political challenges of the country.
The former Dep. Governor of the state, Alhaji Chuso Dattijo, local government chairmen and other personalities attended the event. ( NAN)
