JOHANNESBURG – South Africa’s manufacturing output rose 2.2 percent year-on-year in October, beating market expectations, after falling by a revised 1.7 percent in September, Statistics South Africa said on Tuesday.
Economists polled by Reuters had forecast manufacturing volumes would rise by 0.75 percent year-on-year in October.
Factory production on a month-on-month basis was up 0.7 percent, and rose 0.8 percent in the three months to October compared with the previous three months. (Reuters)
