JOHANNESBURG – South African retail sales rose 1.9 percent year-on-year in May after increasing by 0.5 percent in April, the statistics office said on Wednesday.
On a month-on-month basis, sales rose 1.1 percent. Sales rose 2.4 percent in the three months to the end of May compared with the same period last year, Statistics South Africa said.(Reuters)
