MADRID – Interior Ministry on Tuesday said Spanish police have arrested the parents of two 16 year-old boys for planning to send them to Syria to fight in the civil war there.

The ministry said the boys were arrested in Badalona near Barcelona.

“The family, which has Moroccan roots, made contact with an Islamist network in Morocco that recruits terrorist fighters.
“An older brother to the boys was killed carrying out terrorist activities in Syria last year,’’ the ministry said in a statement. (dpa/NAN)
