YOLA – Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) who fled from Michika to seek refuge in Yola, have commended the residents of Yola and other towns in Adamawa for the assistance given to them.
The spokesman of the IDPs, Rev. Joel Billi made the commendation on Tuesday in Yola at a press briefing.
He said the IDPs have cause to be grateful to God and the all those who had been assisting them with food, shelter and other relief materials for the past 10 days.
Billi, who is the chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Michika, also commended the state government for directing the immediate release of relief materials to the IDPs. [eap_ad_2] “We want to commend the Acting Governor of Adamawa state, Ahmadu Fintiri for instructing that relief materials be distributed to the IDPs, but more needed to be done,” he said.
He alleged that some youths in Michika were being indoctrinated and brain washed by members of the Boko Haram insurgents to give information.
“Reports reaching us here (in Yola) is that they (insurgents) have indoctrinated and brained washed some of our youths who they are using as informants.
“We know those youths and will hand over their names to the authorities,” he said, and called for a united front in the fight against the insurgents. (NAN)[eap_ad_3]
