Spotlights FC budgets N250m for 2014/2015 season

ABUJA – Spotlights FC of Katsina has ear-marked N250 million for the 2014/2015 Nigeria National League season, an official of the club said.

A statement from the club’s Coordinator, Ayuba Umar, on Tuesday in Abuja said the money would cover sign-on fees, registration, match bonuses, players’ salaries and match expenses among others.
In the statement, Ayuba said that the club had already retained 23 players and recruited 16, while 12 were placed on the transfer market.

“The team recruited experienced players from Sharks FC of Port-Harcourt, 3SC FC of Ibadan and Lobi Stars FC of Makurdi in order to fortify the team.
“In all, we express our appreciation to Gov. Ibrahim Shema for his tireless support financially and morally.

“We pledge that the club’s management will continue to do its best towards the overall development of the team.’’

Meanwhile, the team will resume training on Jan. 4 in preparation for the 2014/2015 season. (NAN)
