The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the DPP had advised that the accused should be prosecuted for murder at a higher court.

Earlier, the Prosecutor, Sgt. Maria Dauda, told the court that the offence was committed on Aug. 18, 2015 at about midnight at No. 1, Falana St., Ogombo, Lekki.

She said the accused and the deceased, Edet Ebong, 33, had engaged themselves in a fight and in the process, he picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed the deceased on his stomach.

The offence contravened Section 221 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
