Lagos (Lagos State)- The Coalition of Indigenous Students Association of Nigeria in the South-West on Wednesday assured President Goodluck Jonathan of victory at the March 28 election.
The coalition, comprising students from Ondo, Ekiti, Oyo, Osun, Lagos and Ogun, gave the assurance at a news conference.
Mr George Philips, spokesman for the students, urged students to vote for the continuity of President Jonathan.
Philips said the call was based on Government’s achievements in the education sector, including the various youth empowerment programmes.
According to him, Jonathan’s commitment to education in the last four years shows in the establishment of 12 federal universities, polytechnics and Almajiri schools.

“Many youth empowerment schemes have proved that the government of the day is not just paying lip service to the development of the Nigerian youths.
“ The 2015 election is about the future of this country and most importantly the youths.
“ Jonathan has given us improved education, empowerment through YouWin and other schemes against the primordial empowerments with bicycles and tricycles.
“We cannot afford retrogression. Jonathan convened the National Conference and he will actualise the decisions reached at the conference.
“Students strongly believe that he has done well and if we give him another term, he can do much more’’, Philips said.
Mr Ayodeji Ologun, the Leader of the United Mandate, said the group had found it necessary to enlighten and encourage the students.
He urged the youths to participate in the election and vote en masse for Jonathan.
“We have come together to endorse President Jonathan for continuity in office, to improve the education sector.
“We have found it necessary to add our voice to calls for continuity of the present administration through a call for votes from the entire students. (NAN)
