IBADAN (SUNDIATA POST)- Mrs Florence Ajimobi, wife of late Gov. Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State, on Friday described the death of Hon. Kehinde Subair, a former lawmaker, as a great loss.
Ajimobi, in a message to the family of the former Majority Leader of the State House of Assembly, said Subair’s death has left a vacuum in Oyo State’s political landscape.
While expressing her shock at the death, the President of the Sen. Abiola Ajimobi Foundation (SAAF) said Subair’s passing has left a void that would be difficult to fill.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the condolence message was extended to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Subair’s colleagues between 2011 and 2019 at the State House of Assembly.
Ajimobi said she was confident the late Subair’s legacy would live on through the countless lives he touched as a lawmaker.
“Subair was a dedicated politician, a passionate advocate for his constituents, and a key figure in the development of Oyo State during his time in the House of Assembly,” she said.
The wife of the late former governor went on to highlight Subair’s commitment to public service and his role in fostering unity and progress within the state.
“I am deeply saddened by the news of his passing. He was a remarkable political figure whose contributions to Oyo State will never be forgotten.
“His legacy of service, integrity, and dedication to the people will continue to inspire us all.
“My heart goes out to his family, friends, and the entire Oyo State during this painful time,” Mrs. Ajimobi’s message read.
While she prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul, Ajimobi urged Subair’s loved ones to take comfort in the lasting impact he made during his lifetime.
She also called on the people of Oyo State to honour Subair’s memory by upholding the values of selflessness and commitment to community development that he exemplified.
“I share in the grief and sorrow that his family is experiencing now. He was a remarkable individual who left an indelible mark as a lawmaker.
“He was loyal to the cause of my husband when he was governor. We take comfort in the knowledge that he lived a meaningful life of service and that his memory will continue to inspire and motivate us.
“To his children, I want to remind you that your father died at the most unexpected time, but his spirit, wisdom, and love will continue to guide and direct you.
“Hold on to the memories, cherish the moments you shared with him, and strive to emulate his example,” Ajimobi stated in the message.(NAN)
