Sokoto – The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, on Thursday commended the Saudi Arabian Government for organising “an excellent and successful 2016 Hajj”.
Abubakar made the commendation in Sokoto when the Imam of Medina, Sheikh Abdulmuhsin Alkaseem, paid him a courtesy call.
He also lauded the custodians of the two Holy Mosques in Mecca and Medina for diligently helping in the organisation of the exercise.
He said the visit would consolidate the existing cordial relations between the Sultanate Council of Sokoto, Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.
” This visit will also further cement the unity of the Muslim Ummah (Community) in the state and Nigeria in general,” the Sultan added.
Gov. Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara, who accompanied the Imam, also extolled the existing cordial relations between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.
Earlier, Alkaseem stressed the need for the unity of the Muslim Ummah in the country and the world.
”This visit is in furtherance of the existing cordial relations between the two countries and the Muslim world.
” We will continue to do everything humanly possible for this bond of unity between us to wax stronger and stronger,”the Imam said.
