Sokoto- The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, on Thursday called on politicians in the country to be prepared to accept the results of the forthcoming elections in good faith.
The sultan made the call in Sokoto while receiving the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, who visited him.
He said that accepting results of the elections should be done in the interest of the peace and unity of Nigeria.
According to him, I believe that there must be a country before a leader; if there is no country, there will be no leader.
“So, it is now a high time for all Nigerians to become united even after the elections, for the betterment of the society and the upcoming generation.
‘’Politicians should always accept and fear Allah before and after any election as He gives power to whoever He wants and at the time he wants,’’ he said.
