Sunshine Stars have been handed a target to win the CAF Champions League after they would have won a league and cup double this season. The Nigerian club boss Akin Akinbobola told MTNFootball.com: “We have told the team that they are condemned to winning the double this season. We have given them adequate preparation with foreign pre-season preparations. We have added nine new players who we believe would make the difference and hired the services of a foreign technical adviser.

He continued “If you look at what we have done you would agree that we have done all to ensure that the team is positioned to win the double this season. That is winning the league and the FA Cup. We the management met with the governor and he has told us in clear terms that he needs the team in the continent not just to compete but to win the CAF Champions League.”
The Akure club reached the semifinal of the Champions League in 2012 after they reached the last four in the Confederation Cup the previous year.
