OSOGBO – The police in Osun on Wednesday arraigned a 28-year-old man, Sola Ogunleke, who allegedly failed to produce a suspected criminal he stood as a surety for.
The surety appeared before an Osogbo Magistrate’s Court on a four-count charge.
The prosecutor, Insp. Isiaka Ajadi, told the court that the accused committed the offences from Sept.29 to Oct. 30 in Osogbo.
Ajadi said that the accused failed to produce one Benson Ezebue before the court to stand trial in a case of forgery and impersonation with number MOS/331C/2014.
The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 136(1), 126, 137, 54(f)(3) of the Criminal Code Cap 34, Vol.11 Laws of Osun, 2003.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty.
The Magistrate, Mr Lasisi Adebayo, granted him bail in the sum of N500, 000, 00 with two sureties in like sum.
Adebayo said the sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and have evidence of tax payment.
He ordered that one of the sureties must be a civil servant on Grade Level 10 and above.
The magistrate adjourned the case to Dec. 12 for mention (NAN)
