AWKA (Sundiata Post) – Mr Law Mefor, Commissioner for Information, Anambra State, has called on unemployed youths in the state to take advantage of the ongoing army recruitment opportunity.
Mefor gave the advice in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Awka on Friday.
He noted that online registration for Nigerian Army 89 Regular Recruits Intake for Non-Tradesmen and Women started from March 31 and would end on May 17.
“Many times, when an opportunity like this one comes, some persons will dwell on negative speculations but after the exercise, they will allege marginalisation.
“Please do not marginalise yourself now, be part of the exercise,” he said.
Mefor noted that applucants must be Nigerian citizens by birth and must be medically, physically and psychologically fit in line with Nigerian Army standards.
“An applicant must not be less than 18 years old and not more than 22 years for non-tradesman/woman, while an applicant for the position of tradesman/woman must not be more than 26 years old as at 30th June 2025,” he said.
The commissioner said that selected candidates would participate in a recruitment screening scheduled for June 2 to June 16.
Mefor urged interested persons to get more information on eligibility and requirements from the Nigerian Army Recruitment Website, http://recruitment.army.mil.ng.
According to him, the recruitment is free.(NAN)
