Abuja (Sundiata Post) — Former Deputy Governor of Plateau State, Pauline Tallen, has lost her husband, John Katkwap Tallen.
He was aged 83.
Tallen died in the early hours of Tuesday, after a protracted illness.
Mrs. Tallen had rejected her nomination as an ambassador, according to her, in order to look after her sick husband.
Among the early callers to the bereaved family was the wife of the President, Aisha Buhari, who expressed condolences to the former deputy governor and her family on the death of their patriarch.
In a statement by the Director of Information, Office of the Wife of the President, Suleiman Haruna, Buhari described him as an elder statesman, whose contributions to national development would not be forgotten.
While speaking during a condolence visit to the home of the late statesman, in Abuja, on Tuesday, she prayed God to repose his soul, and give the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Buhari was received by the widow, Pauline Tallen, and other close family members and friends.
