Jalingo, – Alhaji Sani Danladi, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Taraba on Wednesday urged journalists covering the state to adequately project its huge potential in the mineral and agricultural sectors.
Danladi, in an interaction with newsmen in Jalingo, said that local and international investors would be attracted to the state if its potential was projected to the outside world.
“The role of the press in building any society cannot be over-emphasised; the newsmen set agenda for development and determine the way the world will view any society,” he said.
The APC candidate said that he had met with aspirants he defeated to the party’s ticket, adding that they had all agreed to bury their differences and work together.
Danladi, who was Taraba Acting Governor during the 2015 general elections, said that he worked hard to ensure the victory of his then political party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), in both the governorship and presidential elections.
“I will use the same strategy to ensure victory for the APC in all elections in 2019,” he said.
The APC governorship candidate, while responding to questions, said that youth empowerment was his primary reason for seeking to govern the state.
He promised to harness Taraba’s natural resources to create jobs for the youths, saying that everything would be done to minimise indolence among them.
Danladi also rejected suggestions that he deliberately refused to appear before the Federal High Court, Jalingo to answer to N450 million corruption allegations against him.
“I am not afraid of the court; I did not make it to the court because I was not properly served. I will appear when properly served,” he said.
