Abuja (Sundiata Post) – Taraba State Governor Dr Kefas Agbu has approved the appointment of Alhaji Abubakar Bawa as his political adviser.

This is contained in a press statement issued in Jalingo on Tuesday and signed by Mr Yusuf Sanda, Chief Press Secretary to the state government.

The statement read in part:

“His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas has approved the appointment of Alhaji Abubakar Bawa as Special Adviser on Political Matters to the Governor.

“He will be sworn-in on Wednesday, 6th September, 2023 at the Exco Chambers by 9am”.

Sundiata Post recalls that Bawa served as Political Adviser to the immediate past Governor Darius Ishaku and was later appointed by Ishaku as the State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party PDP, days before the end of his tenure.

However, the then acting Chairman of the Party, Mr Inuwa Bakare took the case to Court, insisting that the appointment of Bawa was wrongly done, creating a rivalry in the party.

The appointment of Bawa as the Special Adviser on Political Matters to the Governor is expected to finally put an end to the chairmanship tussle and resolve the crisis in the party.
